Keia Pinnick

Using Prayer To Get Through The Hard Times

Keia is a heptathlon athlete who competes at a very high level. Growing up, Keia’s mother was an alcoholic, which led to her brothers and her being placed in a foster care program until they were adopted. Their adoption was not a pleasant experience. Their adopted parents used harsh discipline without understanding. This environment led Keia’s brothers into a rebellious stage of theft, ending with them being placed in a juvenile detention center. Left alone in a house without anyone to connect with, Keia held onto Christ through prayer and reading. This allowed her to persevere through her toxic environment. Now she is majoring in Family Development at Arizona State University to one day enter in the field of social work. Keia wants to spread the hope that God has put in her life to help others facing difficult situations like she did. Her faith in Christ is what gives Keia The Real Winning Edge!
